Anatomy, Muscles, Summer Time!

I’ve just finished my finals for this quarter! Junior year has come and gone and I can’t believe Junior year is over.

Senior year. Bigger and better things.

I have to say i’m really nervous about approaching the closing of this chapter of my life and diving into the next BUT i’m also really excited to find my place in the world on my own!

Anyway, I digress.

My finals were really fun. I aced my Art of China test for sure and for Music for Motion Pictures I created a temp track for a scene from Master and Commander.

Those classes have really opened my eyes to things that I haven’t taken the time to really take note of and appreciate in the past– the rich art and history of my heritage as well as the process of putting a sound score to a movie. I’ve always loved movie soundtracks and i’ve always wanted to learn more about the history of my people and i’m really glad I got the chance now to learn and be inspired by these classes.

For my Constructive Human Anatomy class, I did studies of statues by Bernini and Michelangelo! Check ’em out below~

I’m really proud of these and I’ve learned way more than I could ever learn about the human body than I could if I was studying it on my own. If you’re at SCAD and have an interest in learning about the human body for artists definitely take this class!

This summer i’ve got some pretty awesome classes lined up. I’ve got Detective Narratives and Introduction to Psychology which I think will go really well together as a study of the human mind for my own personal benefit. I’m also taking a studio course, Digital Coloring and Lettering for Sequential Art which I’m quite excited for because I’ve only learned to draw on the computer on my own and I’m thrilled to learn some things about digital art in a formal class setting!

I’m excited about the future but for now, I’ve got a few weeks of summer and it’s time to relax!
